Physical Details
Sai is lean and slender. He seems to have no fat and very little muscle on him. He is a smaller, shorter makoatl.
Occupation
Sai works as a geisha. Geisha are entertainers and hostesses for individuals or, more typically, for gatherings. Their forms of entertainment include playing traditional Japanese instruments, singing or dancing to traditional Japanese music, telling interesting stories, as well as learning proper ways to serve drinks and snacks. Their goal is to entertain every person at the party they were hired to attend. They work at teahouses, restaurants, and basically anywhere there is a party. They also preform at traditional festivals. Many people think of geisha as the bearers of traditional Japanese culture into the modern world.
Home
Sai has two homes, both in Japan. The first one is a cave on Itsukushima (more commonly known as Miyajima Island), which was the place where he first saw Geisha and fell in love with their culture. It is off the cost of Hiroshima. Miyajima Island is sacred, so sacred in fact that even today there are no hospitals on the island as people are not allowed to be born or die there. The shrine that this island is famous for, Itsukushima Shrine, is known for it's large torii gate that appears to float in the sea. Actually, during high tide, the entire shrine appears to float on the sea. During low tide, there are many fish and shellfish stranded around the shrine, which Sai enjoys eating.
Sai's second home is in Tokyo Bay. It is a man-made battery island close to Odaiba, which itself was built to protect Tokyo. His home island is very very small - it would take a human only perhaps an hour to walk its entire perimeter. No humans live on this tiny island, it was just built centuries ago as a defense inside Tokyo Bay to protect from invaders and attacks. Odaiba itself (which he tends to call his home when people ask, just because it's easier) is very developed and famous for its shopping malls and tourists attractions. Plus all of this is just a short swim away from Tokyo itself.
